Veloviewer

Actually if we are talking about statistics and we want to see our indoor rides, there is one program that stands out and that we can't (and don't want to) ignore and that is VeloViewer.
This pogram retrieves the data from Strava (so all your rides have to be on Strava) and displays them in all kinds of graphs, overviews, maps.  Data about all your rides, or about a particular ride. The possibilities are endless. You can try it for free, but I advise you, if you want more with your bike data and you use Strava, take a paid account of around 10 euro per year!

Here are some examples of what VeloViewer can do with your data:

Year progesss on any attribute you want

Overview all rides, on map or list with an extensive filter

Analysis of single ride

AND...the filter all data only for Indoor Rides !

How does it work

Every time you start Veloviewer, it is a webpage, you need to update your rides. it will download from Strava your data and will save it in VeloViewer. If you have no new rides, you do not need to update. When Veloviewer is finished it will show you the new rides, improved segment places etc. And now you can browse through all possibilities that VeloViewer offeres. VeloViewer is also working on your mobile browser on you Phone.

One of the things that VeloViewer has, is the Explorer tool. Every ride you do, will be drawn on a map (your own heatmap) and your map is clustered in squares. If you have a ride in a square, the box is ticked for that square. Here’s the real challenge: how big a complete square of tiles can you tick off?
As an example I show you part of mine :

I think you can guess... I am living in The Netherlands....if you zoom in :

You see that Veloviewer has a blue square drawn in my map...this is my max square where I ticked all squares within. In black I marked the squares that I should visit with a ride to extend my explorer square....this is what we call Square Explorer !

And no matter how extensive VeloViewer is, I still miss a few overviews that make it complete for me. I will elaborate on this in the next Blog, how you can fill an Excel sheet with your Strava data (automatically) and create all kinds of overviews with it.

But the basis of statistics for me is really VeloViewer, take a look at it and let me know what you think of it.
